Awkward, on MTV, started last week and after watching the first two episodes 9and also the third last night) on tv, I decided to just skip right ahead & watch the rest of the season (so far) online. 

Awkward is rather good. It’s interesting to see that it came from the same people who brought us Juno, because its off-beat but not in the no-one-acts-or-talks-like-that way that some indie comedies can be. It’s refreshingly honest about teenage sexuality, not making a big deal out of Jenna’s casual sex relationship with Matty or preaching about it. If Jenna’s okay with it, then the show is okay with it.

Genuinely laugh out loud funny in parts, the cast are incredibly strong, and although it is completely centred on Jenna & her story, has an almost ensemble feel to it.

With three more episodes to go in this season (and a second okay’d by the powers that be), I can confidently say that I eagerly await the next episode.
